Rrove - Social Bookmarks for Locations
Rrove (pronounced ‘rove’) is a social bookmarks service for locations. At it’s simplest, Rrove allows you to save your favorite places to a personal account for future reference. By using Rrove, you can easily revisit interesting spots.
- Here’s a quick scenario:
A friend emails you the address of a restaurant for a get-together party. To get to the restaurant, you take the address and use an Internet map service such as Google Maps to get driving directions. You meet your friends and enjoyed the enchiladas from the restaurant.
Weeks later, you realize you’re craving for Mexican and want to revisit the restaurant. Problem: you’ve lost the email with the address and the print-out of the driving directions. You don’t recall the name and you’re too lazy to email your friend. Guess what – you’re not likely to revisit that restaurant.
Fortunately, you have a Rrove account. You simply log-in and search through the spots you’ve saved. You find it and, with one click, get driving directions to the restaurant.
Perfect.
Rrove is easy to use; it adapts to the way you work. With the two Rrove buttons added to your browser, head to any of the major map services – we support Google Maps, Y! Maps, MapQuest, and MSN Maps – and use them as you would today. List your addresses to get a map and/or driving directions, then hit the ‘Rrove This’ button to save the information to your account. That’s it! (To go to your account, use the ‘My Rrove’ button.)
There’s more – Rrove is a community of people sharing special spots. We’re more than just a place for storing locations. With Rrove, you have the option to make your places public and make them available to other members. As such, saved locations become recommendations for you and for everyone else. Hopefully, together we can find interesting spots to eat, socialize, or to just enjoy.
(We also have a community feature. Use that to subscribe to the locations of specific members/friends. Use their public locations for ideas on places to visit.)
Please give us a test drive (pun intended), and share your experiences with us. We’re still in beta mode, and building up our database of locations. As such, we recommend using Rrove to save places, rather than getting recommendations. We also agree that there are many more things to improve but we will get there. If you have any comments, suggestions, or feedback, send us a note at feedback@Rrove.com.
